Aquaponics with applied Permaculture Principles of Design
SHE participated in the construction of 2 Aquaponics Greenhouses at Austin Aquaponics which has tripled that farms total supply. This allows for more sustainable food grown locally to be of service to the community. Aquaponics is the most sustainable use of water as a farming method in the world. Water efficiency coupled with Solar Power means Sustainable Humane Earth is now on it's own property growing massive amounts of food for the community with little to ZERO carbon footprint. This is the very definition of Sustainable Humane Earth. It doesn't stop there! SHE uses permaculture design principles to make the Aquaponics Greenhouse a true zero waste system!
Urban Permaculture Design
Based on the genius of Max Meyers, Geoff Lawton and other top permaculture pioneers, SHE utilizes the Earth saving principles of Permaculture Design. Permaculture includes more than just growing plants. Permaculture is a design science that is applied to every working aspect of Sustainable Humane Earth.
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a branch of ecological design, ecological engineering, and environmental design that develops sustainable architectureand self-maintained agricultural systems modeled from natural ecosystems. The term permaculture (as a systematic method) was first coined by Australians Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in 1978. The word permaculture originally referred to "permanent agriculture" but was expanded to stand also for "permanent culture," as it was seen that social aspects were integral to a truly sustainable system as inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka's natural farming philosophy.
